Privacy Policy
1. Information we collect
When you create a Street Gallery account, we collect:
- Basic profile info: name, display name, email, photo, sign-in provider
- Optional profile details you choose to add: home city/country, gender, language, timezone
- Content you post: photos, descriptions, locations of street art, food, and performances you share
- Device and usage info: device type, OS version, app language, session activity
- Location data attached to posts you create, and approximate location used to show you nearby content
2. How we use it
We use this information to run the app — showing you nearby posts, attributing content to its poster, moderating reported content, and understanding overall usage so we can improve the product.
3. Location data
Posts you create are tied to a location so others can find them. We don't track your location in the background outside of the app's core discovery features.
4. Third-party services
Street Gallery uses a handful of third-party services to run the app. Each only receives the data it needs to do its job:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Storage, App Check) — hosts your account, posts, and photos, and verifies that requests come from our real app.
- Google Sign-In — if you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile photo from your Google account.
- Meta (Facebook Login) — if you sign in with Facebook, we request only your public profile and email address. We don't post on your behalf or access your friends list.
- Google Maps & Places — powers the map view and location search; your approximate location is sent to Google to show relevant results.
- Algolia — powers in-app search; search terms you type are sent to Algolia to return matching results.
- Google AdMob — serves ads in the free version of the app; see "Advertising" below.
Each provider handles data under its own privacy policy: Google, Meta, Algolia.
5. Advertising
Street Gallery's free tier is ad-supported through Google AdMob. AdMob and its partner networks may use device identifiers (such as the advertising ID) and app activity to select and measure ads, as described in Google's policy for how data is used in advertising. A one-off donation removes ads for your account.
6. Sharing with other users
We don't sell your personal data. Content you post publicly (street art, food, and performance posts) is visible to other users and, if nominated and selected, may be featured on this website's public spotlight. Reports you submit are handled confidentially — your identity is not shown to the person or content you report.
7. Data retention
We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and associated data at any time from the Delete Account page, whether or not you still have the app installed.
8. Your rights
You can access, correct, or delete your personal data, and request a copy of what we hold about you. Use the Delete Account page to delete your account directly, or contact us using the details on the Contact page for anything else.
9. Children's privacy
Street Gallery is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post changes here with an updated date.
11. Contact
Privacy questions or requests can be sent to the address on the Contact page.
